Thoughts For 50 - Pages 301 to 350 Of Falling By Jane Green

Eight years ago, Emma Montague left behind the strict confines—and rather dull boyfriend—of her upper-crust English life and moved to New York City, where she immediately found success in finance. But her soulless, cutthroat, all-consuming job was another life she didn’t want.

Answering an ad on Craigslist, Emma finds a tiny beach cottage in the small town of Westport, Connecticut. It needs work—lots of work. But it’s the perfect project to satisfy Emma’s passion for interior design and gardening, if her new landlord, Dominic, is agreeable to the small changes she yearns to make.

To Emma, Dominic himself is somewhat of a fixer-upper. A local handyman with a six-year-old son, he’s a world away from the men she should be interested in, but he’s comfortable in his own skin, confident, quiet, and kind. And slowly, over a shared garden, time spent with his son, and late-night conversations, Emma finds herself falling for Dominic...
From friends to lovers happens as naturally as the changing seasons. But setting down roots doesn’t come easily when two lives as different as their own merge into one. And Emma will realize that the seeds of happiness must be nurtured and cherished to grow into something strong enough to shelter all their hopes and dreams..

Laura's Thoughts
I am not! I mean seriously not leaving this book 20 or something pages from the end next week... It will not be a thoughts for 50 but a thoughts for 75 or something instead... Either way the book will be getting finished next weekend and I think Jen will agree! This book just goes from strength to strength, it may have even got a few tears from me this week as I feel as though I have formed a bond with the characters and wanted what they wanted for them!. I called half of the things that happened in this weeks read but without writing them in my predictions for some strange reason. I just cannot wait to read the rest of this book!! Something big has got to happen and the way it has built up during this weeks read it isn't going to be good!

Laura Predicts
  • Stacy kidnapping Jesse or turning Jesse against Emma
  • Stacy coming on to Dominic and Emma seeing it and getting the wrong impression
  • George coming over to visit and him and Dominic falling in love... Dominic could be gay usually the best kind of men are!
  • Emma's mum dying and Emma feeling bad for the fallout and taking it out on Dominic
Jen's Thoughts
So we are now on the home stretch well and truly….only 74pages to go. Emma and Dominic are still in England, and the party is in full throw: queue more naughtiness from Emma’s mum, who tries to throw more spanners in the work. My predictions last week did not come into fruition, but things have taken a new turn. It’s like the Twilight Saga all over again, with Team Edward and Team Jacob; except no one apart from Emma, seems to be on Team Emma. Well apart from Hobbes, who gets a cuddle session this week and Jesse who seems to have accepted his dad’s new girlfriend. I don’t want to say too much: SPOILERS! Parents: some children do have them.

The narrative is on full speed and I can’t wait to finish this book. I have read so many books during these seven weeks, but this is the one I really wanted to finish. I love this book so much: I am falling for Falling! Jane Green is a genius. I have a feeling there will be more trouble to come. I am on Team Emma and if things don’t end happily: Jane Green will be getting a naughty tweet!

Jen Predicts
