The Girl On The Train - A Review By Jen

What is it about?
Rachel makes the same journey every day, she fictionalises a couple she sees and soon becomes embroiled in their lives, then an unexpected twist occurs.

Who is it for?
Those who like a thrill.

Genre?
Psychological Thriller

Is it any good?
If Carlsberg wrote a novel ...... it might have been this one. I can't really explain plot details, because of spoilers. I wouldn't want to spoil it for you. Paula Hawkins takes the reader on a roller-coaster, it's not so much of a thriller, but Hawkins playing with your mind.

Three women, three perspectives....joined together by a simple train journey. Rachel the main narrative of the novel is joined by Megan and Anna, and their narratives are as equally as important as Rachel's.

I will give the reader a bit of advice: read the dates on each chapter, as one narrator's events occur prior to the other two narratives. I read most of on the train coming to and from work, very atmospheric. It's a page turner, better than Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

So buy it, read it and enjoy.....

Was the ending satisfactory?
Yes and unexpected

Would I recommend the book?
Yes oh yes!!!

Read it if you like:
Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter
Murder House by James Patterson with David Ellis
